Is your farm an official ISKCON farm? In other words -- just for example -- if the GBC's can tell you whether or not you can sell land on your farm, it is an official ISKCON farm. If the GBC has *control* over your project, they must also take some *responsibility* for your project. That is the point of the rule in the Minimum Cow Protection Standards (see below) which states that the GBC must visit each ISKCON farm project, meet privately with the cowherds, and inspect the facilities for the cows 4 times per year. Any ISKCON cowherds who live on projects which the GBC neglects to visit should contact the ISKCON Ministry of Agriculture as soon as possible so that the situation can be corrected. On the other hand, I'm not sure about the exact status of your property. If it is not owned by ISKCON, the GBC are not required to visit it. your servant, Hare Krsna dasi *********************************************** http://www.angelfire.com/co/iscowp/frameset.html ISKCON Law (507) -- MINIMUM COW PROTECTION STANDARDS [excerpt]: XIV LOCAL GBC RESPONSIBILITY Recommended 1) The GBC Should Quarterly a) Meet with cowherds and ox teamsters. (See Standard 1) c) Present written reports to the Ministry of Cow Protection and Agriculture. (Report forms will be provided to the GBC)
