Guest guest
How does this look for their preaching: Our community survives because we receive an indirect subsidy from the cow slaughter industry. Another form of basing our economy on indirect subsidy from the cow slaughter industry is the current proposal of the management of New Gokula: to purchase milking cows without their offspring, for the purpose of selling their milk. No more breeding. This way the responsibility to care for their offspring is side-stepped, because the offspring have been slaughtered. We are thus supporting both the slaughter of young calves, probably through the deplorable veal industry, and cruelty to Mother cow, who suffers pangs of separation from her calf. Yet they are passing this off as compassion on the cow to save her from slaughter, while at the same time making good profit. But they do not want the calf. Nor do they want to listen to me. Nor those in the community who oppose it. The only people they value is those who have some position. The only possibility I have of getting anywhere is if someone like Hare Krsna prabhu, or any sannyasi, GBC, TP, etc. would make a firm stand and condemn it for what it is. Other devotees, also, to add pressure. Any contribution is valued. What sort of compassion is it on mother cow to only save her from slaughter if her calf is killed first? Those of you who are parents, put yourself in mother cows position. The protective feelings you have for your children are at least as strong in the cow species, who never consider abortion, nor do they ever mistreat or abuse their calves. From morning to night they are watching them with pleasure and concern. Some cows never get over the trauma of having their calves taken away. We had one cow, Rani, who we bought from the karmi's after she had her first calf, which of course had been slaughtered. After that whenever she had a calf and anyone went near it she would panic and chase the person away. She didn't forget. So we shouldn't think that because they can't speak they don't have feelings. For them the calf is everything, and it is not my speculation, but it is very clear upon observing them,ys, niscala ____ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Dear Niscala prabhu, Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! I just received corresspondence from Ramai Swami. He said that this proposal will not be enacted.
