And, naturally, Srila Prabhupada is our great leader in Krsna consciousness. I just can't help contrasting the conceptions of the big agribusiness firms like Monsanto -- who believe that agriculture should be conducted on the most massive scale possible -- with Srila Prabhupada's small-scale philosophy like "every man should grow his own food." I see that Bush is trying to pedal GMO seeds in Africa -- and Africa surely does not need them. What would be better for Africa is Prabhupada's philosophy of "simple living - high thinking." Let the villagers remain in their own village, growing food for themselves rather than for the international market (Prabhupada made a similar point in Mauritius). Then, if we want to improve the lives of the villagers, it should be done by improving small-scale or appropriate technology, and most of all by just giving people the joy of contant festivity in worshipping Krsna, both in His deity form and in the form of chanting His holy name. ys hkdd > >
