Dear all,

Back on the web, not too much activity on the

conference I see, but this one took my interest copied

from the extract below:

In Bhagavad-gita also the duties of the vaisyas, who

are engaged in visa, are stated as cow protection,

Agriculture and business.

The vaisyas are divided into many subsections: some of

them are called ksetri, or landowners, some are called

krsana, or land tillers, some of them are called

tila-vanik, or grain raisers, some are called

gandha-vanik, or merchants in spices, and some are

called suvarna-vanik, or merchants in gold and

banking.

Comment:

This year I have been promised by the UK Vegetarian

Society another article of VEDA's on cow protection

and the progress VEDA has made in its efforts to turn

it into a viable business. As so little progress has

been made by this on the conference I obviously have

little to report. I hope to give them an artice called

"To kill or not to kill? - What is the answer?".

The point here is that I needed to use this conference

to get the data together to form a rudimentary

business model. But any mention of business has

usually been rebuffed by many on this conference.

The above Prabhupada quotes show that cow protection,

agriculture and business go together, so why do we not

embrace my mission to form viable business models of a

viable business?

I ask again if there are devotees out there who are

truly interested in this endeavour for it could be

another year or more before my personal life allows me

to dedicate real time to this, and, as I see it, it

should be a collective effort by all devotees (of

whatever flavour) to make this work.

NB. Am I still needed to translate anything, or has

that been taken care of as I read at one time?

Yours,

Mark.
