Guest guest
Dear Prabhus Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I've been a silent participant of this conference for a while now and have been patiently waiting to ask the appropriate question. I wish to have some clarification about this; There is this one qoute that Srila Prabhupada makes, which I'm going to paraphrase, I'm sure Taraka Prabhu will be able to find the qoute. Srila Prabhupada says "Now we are attracting the best of them (the brahmanas), but Caitanya Mahaprabhu says "para upakara", we have to attract everyone." Through varnasrama. To engage everyone, no matter what nature. So this was our goal with Iskcon farms right? My question then is " Do we then want the masses to follow the full brahminical standard program which we follow daily in our Iskcon temples or do we allow them some other standard, knowing very well that there skill lies in farming?" What I'm saying is " do we accept someone in our communities based on their Krsna Consciousness, if they are following the full morning program and chanting, etc. or their ability to do some valuable work?" Remembering the statement that Srila Prabhupada has made in the above paragraph. Thank you Prabhus Your servant Gauranga Prema Das
Guest guest
Exactly, Gauranga Prema.... Your on the right track, even to my suprise.. I for one am with you and even a mojority of individuals on this conference,.. but this conference is but a mere few. Now lets see the so called existing leading brahmans except such sence. It would be the begining crack in a big wall that has to come down, and what is waiting on the other side is " living in culture " ; " breaking away from the societal disease " ; " depending on KRSNA, the land and the COWS " anything extra is an agitation and a block on the path.. the only way to grow a culture is to have lots of substance.. Hare Krsna,, ys, derek- >"Gauranga Prema (das) BCAIS (Cape Town - SA)" ><Gauranga.Prema.BCAIS (AT) pamho (DOT) net> >"Gauranga Prema (das) BCAIS (Cape Town - SA)" ><Gauranga.Prema.BCAIS (AT) pamho (DOT) net>, Cow (AT) pamho (DOT) net >"Cow (Protection and related issues)" <Cow (AT) pamho (DOT) net> >Where do we go? >Wed, 15 Aug 2001 11:34 -0400 > >Dear Prabhus > >Please accept my humble obeisances. >All glories to Srila Prabhupada. > >I've been a silent participant of this conference for a while now and have >been patiently waiting to ask the appropriate question. And now, most temples, including farms, are buying bhoga. So the reality is that we are already involved with karmis supplying our foodstuffs, and I don't need to go into detail about all their bad habits. The question is are we going to stop ignoring the reality of the lifestyles of those already supplying our food, and start being more accepting of nonbrahmans closer at hand supplying us, whose lifestyles, however short of some theoretical perfection, are superior to those we accept grains from now.
