Dear conference,

I received this from Aroon of which I find needs to be

shared. It is in the active, pasionate, fresh youth

and new members that this issue will be pushed

forward. I still find much of what HKDD says to be

totally stulifying and incorrect. I would love to

debate this out with her as I think she is wrong and

her views are stopping cow protection from working.

As the last cow quote of Prabhupada said:

Therefore it is recommended, krsi-goraksya-vanijyam.

and if there is excess, they can trade.

The point is that there will be excess and therefore

there will be trade and there will be commerce. A

commercial viewpoint, a business is essential - it is

just in the fine points of its workings that we must

endeavour to the highest morallity.

Jay Aroon,

In reply to your question:

The answer is no, I do not have the available details.

I have included this letter on the cow conference. I

believe this to be good as I think it would be nice to

get yourself onto this conference. Here, the ins and

outs of cow protection are debated in scrutiating

detail.

I am somewhat of an antagonist on this conferece as my

perspective is that cow protection needs to be

seperated from peroquial religions, like what ISKCON

could be called (depending on whose mentality), and

that it should be economically viable, productive and

profit giving.

This is controversial as ISCKON, supposedly a society

of conscious people, is in many respects a sectarian

religion, not an all-ebracing (secular) social

movement: and without abandoning its varied form of

religion it holds on to its sacred cow of sacred cows

and does not share it to the rest of the world. The

ISCKON elites give lip-say to cow protection but do

little to support it in comparison to the importance

it has.

But the main failing grace, as I see it, is in the

lack of embracing the fact that wide-scale cow

protection would have $million and $billion assets and

turnover. Solely as a subsistence farming system this

would be difficult to set up, just to afford the

assets, and maintain, as excess would come naturally,

which would lead to trade.

By not embracing business, the need for production and

profit, many on this conference are, in my view,

consigning cow protection to the waiting list of

good-ideas-waiting-to-happen.

If you agree with my position or not, please join us

on this conference and elswhere to allow the right

conditions to bring cow protection to the waiting

world.

Yours,

Mark Chatburn.
