Guest guest
Dear Prabhus, PAMHO AGTSP. Mark's text about sustainable living in Argentina definitely shows how in different geographic areas rural communities will take different character and have diferent needs. I am thinking that a general proposal to the GBC that states they give support to rural development, how it is an important aspect of KC in light of the current events. And since they would not want to give thier support blindly, they could possibly commit to any authorized project (ministry approval project). In fact it would be worded such that devotees in the area of development could most definitely call upon their GBC for support, financially if possible and otherwise. Enough of the GBC guru disciples have much wealth and could be called upon for support by the resolution. The more difficult part would be at least making an outline of what it would take to start a community either in general or in a specific location. Already started communities could benefit from this also to see waht they are missing. A geographic breakup. Western World (Europe, USA) South America India and Asian countries Russia Africa Th GBC resolution could be written by one person and the conference could review it but the "What is Needed to Begin and Sustain a Rural Community" needs the input of the experienced devotees on this conference (last count 112). This paper, project, whatever we want to call it can be used by any group who want to base their lives on the land and want to protect their animals. Of course it is primarily written for teh devotees in the hope that it will help the devotees practically put together successful communities not problems. We need successful communities if we are to be the safe havens that Srila Prabhupada had envisioned. Should we proceed in a general concept, not geographically?
