RDP Principles - clarity needed

Dear Prabhus,

I agree with Hare Krsna , Syamasundara, and Madhava Gosh prabhus on the

prinicple of KISS and in answer to Syamasundara prabhu's request to have a

format simple like the Standards, I submitted the previous outline. We need

to go forth with an outline or format that is simple. One reason is that the

GBC will not deal with something that is too complex and the most important

thing is that we have a very good chance on getting it accepted by them.

With the standards we all had to compromise at one point or another in the

light of what would be most likely to be accepted-not that we compromised

the principles involved but let go on some finer points. The deadline is Dec

1 so what is everyone's feeling on the outline submitted by me. If someone

has a better outline, please bring forth. There are so many wonderful ideas

being written on this conference as to different points that I so much want

to contain them in some format as soon as possible.

Your servant,

Chayadevi

I agree with Syamasundara's point. The wording is so dense and convoluted, I

have not been able to even read it. We need a style-editor here to clean

things

up. I think Syamasundara is pointing us in the right direction.

We need wording which is inspiring -- not daunting -- to average farmers. Even

the GBC won't read it if it is not clear.

Let's go for clarity -- or, to put it in Will Strunk's famous statement, "Omit

needless words! Omit needless words! Omit needless words!"

Dear Chayadevi et al,

My gosh, you really need to be payed to do this work

full time! I had no idea the deadline was so near

otherwise I would not have put an esoteric part in

there (not that it is invalid). I will do my best to

read your outline, comment, and keep to the principle

of KISS - what is KISS?

Let's hope we get something that will be of serious

value in the future.

Mark
