Guest guest
My feelings are that the GBC are in more of a position to help the goshallas since they have more access to wealth which is needed to purchase more land. Gopal Krsna is GBC of Vrndavana and Jayapatka is GBC of Mayapur along with some others. Within the proposl can be incorporated your points. We need to impress upon all who read it that the autorities in charge have been warned notified and still they have done nothing to help the cowherds and allow the most vulnerable citizens of our society be given away. Lets begin the proposal as the GBC suggest and will accept but point out all the ramifications specifically spirtual as they request in their form. - "Noma T. Guest guest
Rohita's proposal is excellent. No more negotiation. As he suggests, if the Temple Presidents of Vrndavana and Mayapur cannot follow these instructions, they should be removed from their position, and new temple presidents should be appointed by the GBC. We must understand that cow abuse is an important symptom of wider abuse. The health and welfare of the cows is a barometer to gauge how other entities and devotees in the temple are being maintained. If cows are continuing to be abused (as they are when the MINIMUM standards for cow protection are not followed) then the overwhelming probability is that other protected groups such as women, children, brahmanas (especially bramacaris), and the elderly are also being abused. Temple presidents who cannot follow ISCKON Ministry of Cow Protection MIMIMUM standards for cow protection -- after repeated pleas and warnings -- must be summarily dismissed. A long time ago, miners used to carry a caged canary down in the mine shaft with them. If that bird became sick -- they would immediately leave the mine shaft, because it was a symptom of a fundamental danger. They saved the bird, but by saving the bird, they also saved themselves from poison gas. Similarly, when we see such a poor record of caring for the cows over such a long time, we should be alert and take note. A dramatic change is needed because not only will the cows suffer and die, all these other protected groups are at risk also. If they suffer or leave ISKCON, then it will do great harm to Srila Prabhupada's Krsna consciousness movement. I still believe that someone who is an honest leader of the Vrndavana temple would make an investigation into the disappearance of so many animals over the past fifteen years. Then, if wrong-doing is detected, they should make a public and advertised apology in front of the Deities and the congregation. To continue to sweep past abuses under the carpet is an invitation to ultimate misfortune. your servant, Hare Krsna dasi Rohita dasa wrote: > Emergency Proposal for GBC... > > > EMERGENCY PROPOSAL > > Vrndavan & Mayapura: > Effective immediately: > Limit cows bred to 5 per year. > Increase land holdings OF THE COWS or at least establish fund to do so. > > Effective by years end: > Adopt a cow program established: That by end of year all male animals are > named, with an adoptive family to act as their personal guardian and by the > end of the first quarter of next year all females are similarly treated. > > Punishment: > 1.
