conference which I thought others might be interested in. If you want to

Announcement

 

Due to recent events and postal delays the Early Bird Registration and

scholarship deadline for the 2001 CSA Conference, December 7-9, 2001, has

been extended to October 26, 2001.

 

The conference will be held at Frost Valley Conference Center, in Claryville

New York.

The conference will feature interactive workshops, expert trouble-shooting

advice, intensive seminars and the opportunity to learn and share with

nearly 400 other people interested in Community Supported Agriculture.

 

It is designed for farmers, farm apprentices, CSA members, educators,

representatives of non-profit and government agencies, and anybody

interested in a more secure, sustainable food system.

 

Featured speakers include:

* Gloria Decater, Live Power Community Farm, Covelo, CA, California's oldest

CSA initiative;

* Joan Dye Gussow, educator and author.

* Elizabeth Henderson, CSA farmer and author of Sharing the Harvest

* Kathy Lawrence, director of the National Campaign for Sustainable

Agriculture;

* Michael Hamm, Rutgers Universty

* Shane LaBrake, Ecosystem Farm

 

Four intensive, small group sessions will be offered Friday during the

pre-conference mini school:

*Next Steps for CSA Support Networks

 

Nearly 50 workshops will be offered Saturday and Sunday during five
