Guest guest
Varnasrama College Diary By Rabindranatha Dasa Adhikari Monday, January 24, 2005 Things went on as usual today.* Finished my 16 rounds at 10:34a.m. and Sastra-krt Prabhu lead mangala arati and Brigupati Prabhu (ACBSP) gave the Srimad-Bhagavatam class on 3.33.12. I was thinking that I want to get Indian cows for the Varnasrama College. I heard that they are first class, western cows are second class and yaks are third class. But I was wondering if such Indian cows (I think they are called "zebu") would do well in the west? Also one of the ways that the Varnasrama College would have the "best Deity worship in the world" would to offer them only milk, ghee, etc. that come from protected cows and grains grown only by using protected bulls and no trackers. Today I signed up two more devotees for the "Bhaktivedanta Reading Program" here at the college. Quote of the day "The effect of adhering to the institution of varnasrama is gradual elevation to the spiritual platform and liberation from material bondage. By following the principles of varnasrama-dharma, one gets the opportunity to associate with devotees. Such association gradually awakens one's dormant propensity to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead and frees one from all the basic principles of sinful life. One then gets the opportunity to offer unalloyed devotional service to the Supreme Lord, Vasudeva."--Bhag. 5.19 Summary *What those things are will appear once in a month and on the Varnasrama College website.
