Does anyone know if Hurricane Charley affected the cows at New Ramana Reti in Alachua? your servant, Hare Krsna dasi Dairies feel brunt of Hurricane Charley Four dairies in Manatee County -- located just north of Hurricane Charley's landfall Friday afternoon -- lost their electrical power and had to use generators, said Travis Seawright, Manatee County extension livestock agent. Dairies had generators ahead of time, but some of the generators reportedly broke down after being pressed into service. At Ferrin Dakin's dairy near Myakka City, Fla., cows went without milking for 20 hours, reports the Bradenton Herald.
