Guest guest
Speaking of gearing for animal powered grain mills got me thinking about the Appropriate Technology Sourcebook. I bought a copy in 1997 or so. The book itself includes reviews of about 1000 books on AT topics, including animal traction equipment, agriculture, water and sewage, energy, etc. It's designed for development workers in third world countries. But accompanying the book used to be "libray in a shoebox" in which all the books reviewed were included on microfiche. That was $700. But now they have added a CD ROM library which includes all the books. That is available for $450 or so. Quite a good bargain -- considering that many of the titles from the 1970's back-to-the-land movement are now out of print elsewhere. You can buy the whole set, or just select CD's, for $25 each. Each CD has about 20-30 books on it. ys hkdd http://www.villageearth.org/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=ATL
