Guest guest
Dear conference, I am doing some research into milk prices. Could any one please tell me in a commercial herd of say 300 head, what percentage would be milking and at what quantity per day as a yearly average, that is taking into account the present industrialised system? What would they receive per litre at the farm gate? How many workers would they need, and what would be the capital investment for the miling aparatus? Could this be made in litres not gallons, as I am not great at converting to imperial. Thanks, Gopa Such information could then be used to compare to various systems of cow protection farming systems, including ox-powered cropping or not. Ox cropping systems would obviously require data that will be very hard to get, but cow-milk data is readily available, so it would only be a case of using the contemporary data and working with it to try to get some idea for milk costs from cow protection farming systems of various kinds depending on how the system is modified from the contemporary system. This is the reason. ALL-NEW Messenger - all new features - even more fun!
