People want to think it is safe, and feel safe and healthy, so they will pay someone to tell them it is, and then will accept it for truth. There are 2 other vegetarians in my office at MCI. The rest are regular, meat-n-potatoes folks who cannot accept that they are being lied to. The conversations can be very interesting (I don't usually partake, but they know where I stand) especially because only the vegetarians have chosen to be informed on the topic. The others' argument inevitably defaults to "If it wasn't safe, they wouldn't be able to sell it" (lie #1) or "it tastes good" (lie #2 - they need a Sunday feast to know what tastes good).
