They will plough the fields to grow crops, and carry loads .. They eat only grass and crop residues. They dont need deisel or costly spare parts or skilled mechanics to fix them. They reproduce themselves. Their dung is the best fertiliser and can be burned as fuel. They are free from all pollution. Nature provides. yours sincerely Rosalie Malik B-6 Parijat Raikar Park Roha. Guest guest
Another excellent response. Short, sweet and to the point. Hopefully the Indian address will attract their attention. They like to show that they have readers around the world. We may or may not get anything published this time. Possibly, they did not receive enough correspondence to make them feel this was a hot topic. But the thing to remember is: This is only the beginning. We'll all have plenty of opportunity to write letters like this in the coming decade. The three that we've already seen posted here are all good examples of letters to write, not only to a big national newspaper, but also to local hometown papers -- as the the topic of depletion of oil resources becomes bigger and bigger in the years to come. Hopefully, as time goes by, people will realize that ox power is the answer, and that Hare Krsna devotees are the ones who work the oxen. I also support Gopal prabhu's internal suggestion that any temple which aspires to the highest standard of Deity worship should offer their Deities only milk from protected cows and grains grown by protected oxen. This is what Srila Prabhupada would have wanted for the highest standard. If temples can work towards attaining this standard -- then we'll definetely have the working oxen to attract the populace as they find they can no longer afford to rely on petroleum products to produce the food they need., ys hkdd Rosalie Malik wrote: >- >Rosalie Malik >letters (AT) nytimes (DOT) com >Thursday, February 12, 2004 3:26 PM >re Out of Gas > > >Re: Paul Raeburn's article Feb 8 2004 on David Goodstein's "Out of Gas" > >Dear Sir > >The energy crisis predicted by Goodstein need not be painful, The oxen are >there.
