Guest guest
Very good points to raise Syamasundar Prabhu. Personally I rely upon our hay crop for most of our income on the farm here in NZ I lime the paddocks in Autumn (paid for by hay sales). Is it a bonified reasoning of mine that the Laksmi I take off the non devotees who are going to feed their cows/ horses / goats / rabbits and chickens that I put straight back into the farm for maintainence of our herd surely going to nulify any questionable Karma involved ?? Haying the paddocks cleans them up well also. Regarding Lambangalatika s suggestion to retire the old horses to you would be a very generous offer but I think you could do one better and upon building up a nice realtionship with the owner, suggest they let the horse graze out its days and of course still pay you the grazing fee. Some devotees near the farm do this with their land and have about 5 horses grazing out their days. Generally many horse people feel obligated to their horse, its just unfortunate they dont think the same about the cows. Food for thought.
