This is well-written and thoughtful response to a potentially

life-threatening situation. Is there any way you could put something

like this together for posting on Dipika, VNN and Chakra.

Unfortunately, the GBC are generally very slow in communicating material

like this to the general body of devotees. However, groups like this to

a lot of publicity and fund raising on these public forums.

It would do a lot to push groups like this towards compliance with

ISKCON standards if they realized that potantial donors and ISKCON

authorities were educated on what responsible standards of animal care

and public safety should be.

There is a very nice article in latest BTG about Padayatra America.Their

preaching is most inspiring and their faith in Krsna will overcome all

obstacles. It must have been a bit much for the horses at times .

Yes, I saw it. It was a nice presentation.

Unfortunately, just because they have a nice article written about them

doesn't mean that they are not abusing animals or neglecting public

safety. However, that aspect is not the responsibility of the BTG.

Their job is simply to publicize various activities, and they do that

very nicely.

It is however, the responsibility of the Ministry of Cow Protection and

Agriculture to monitor issues of animal welfare and related public

safetry issues in ISKCON. I think they are right to take the reports

that they have received very seriously.

Any instances of bad publicity for animal abuse or lawsuits from lack of

upholding public safety standards would be a set back to ISKCON's

preaching efforts. I'm glad that the Ministry of Cow Protection and

Agriculture is actively pursuing the facts in this situation, and

reminding ISKCON officials of the proper standards to be upheld.
