Guest guest
Very interesting article. I had not eaten Worcestershire sauce for about 30 years, because of the anchovie contents. Recently, I found a vegetarian Worcestershire sauce which was very tasty. It's a pity about the anchovies, completely unnecessary. I think the main attraction in Worcestershire sauce is the tamarind, which is an unusual flavor in Western food. That makes me think of hot dogs and sausages. One woman told me that she could easily become vegetarian, but she could not give up hot dogs and sausages. I explained to her that her attraction there was not the meat but the spices, like coriander and so on, which she could easily add to vegetarian dishes. I'm not sure if she became a vegetarian, but she was surprised at my explanation. ys hkdd Hrimati (dd) ACBSP (Mayapur - IN) wrote: >I found this interesting article: > >http://www.expresshotelierandcaterer.com/20020805/inside201.shtml > >Inside Kitchen > >Misinterpretation: A Costly Affair > > >Food flavourings cubes have large percentage animal product in it. >Worcestershire sauce served on the table are flavoured with anchovies. >Proper care should be taken while planning the recipe has to be careful as >the sauce could be used to cook a vegetarian dish.
