Care for Cows in Vrindavan

Very interesting. It looks like they are probably both overcrowded, but

it's noteworthy that the Vrndavan program features many photos of

"bulls" as well as cows. Only one is called an "ox." I'm hoping that

some of the so-called "bulls" are actually oxen -- otherwise we'll

quickly have a bad problem of overcrowding.

Both could tell us a little more about their programs. Both have their

pluses and minuses.

Anyway, but at least the Vrndavan people get the point that they should

be protecting oxen also.

Thanks for calling this to our attention.

I have known Kurma Rupa Prabhu for many years. When I go to Vrindavan it

is a" must do" to visit his compound and his cows/bulls/oxen. His program

is first class and he is hands on in all aspects of the program. If he has

no helper for the day he does everything himself with no burden of thought

that he is working so hard. He is also giving morning Srimad Bhagawatam

class and evening Bhagavad Gita class to the cows/bulls/oxen.

Kurma Rupa Prabhu is a gentleman and scholor and a dedicated cow herd.

Milk is not the concern. Care for the cows is the focus. His hands are

rough and cracked from the menial labor he performs in serving the cows.

His smile is big and warm. His heart is full of compassion for the cows.

His actions in serving the cows is gentle and kind. Top of the line

program. Thousands of prostrated obeisences at his lotus feet. Kurma Rupa

Okay, you both have convinced me -- I'm impressed!

Now if only someone would point out the difference to the devotee on

Chakra who seems to think Mother Cow is so superior to the efforts of

any of Srila Prabhupada's disciples...

A great article!!!

My favorite parts:

"I don't see many people protecting cows for the purpose of pleasing Krsna.

Mostly they want to take service [milk] from the cow. "

and

"HKRL: You were mentioning that cow protection is vaisya activity...

KRP: Brahminical also."
