Guest guest
I read this off New Vrndavana's website http://www.newvrindaban.com Did You Know... · that New Vrindaban has 173 cows and 40% are oxen? · that we have one bull and 5 milking cows? · that 95% of our cows are Holsteins? that our cows give an average of 6 pounds of milk per day, · and the entire herd produces approximately 20,530 pounds per year? That's almost 2,500 gallons of milk annually! · that if this pure, organic milk was sold in Health Food Stores at $5.50 a gallon, the community would receive $13,750 per year? · that our cows are and average of 13-15 years old? · that Holsteins can live up to 20 years? · that cows can first breed between 15 and 18 months of age? · that cows go into heat every 21 days? · that one bale of hay weighs 800 pounds? · that cows can eat 40 pounds of hay per day? · that our cows produce 3.2 metric tons of manure for Krishna's garden? · that we use 7,500 acres of land to graze? · that we have 18 miles of fence to protect these cows? · that our cows are off the pastures eating bales of hay 120 days per year? · this winter the cows will eat 10 bales of hay each day?
