Guest guest
Hrimati Prabhu, I hope someone will be able to bring some Bag Balm for you and other cows. Onetime at Gita-nagari, Balabhadra made lots of comfrey salve. I found that this was also very helpful with the cows. Seems like it should be possible to make some type of neem salve also. ********* But I had another question. I just recently figured out that you were from Germany, which I should have gathered from your previous discussion of technology from Germany... but I'm slow to figure things out. Anyway, over the years I have seen so many examples of small-scale appropriate technology from the German appropriate technology group GATE (or GTZ). I'm sure you are familiar with some of their work. My question is -- what kind of group is this. Do they have actual physical labs and fields where they test their equipment, etc. -- or is it more of a publishing house where people, especially development workers, just publish their research and inventions? Is it a place you can visit -- and have you visited there, or do you know people who have -- or would you just find a bookstore there? I started thinking about it again, while researching information related to Syamasundara prabhu's plans for developing a grain grinder. One of the few books on grain grinders that I could find information on was a GATE publication by Wulf Boie, "Introduction of Animal-Powered Cereal Mills," which includes gearing discussion, etc. I guess what I was wondering is, if a person went to GATE in Germany, would he be likely to actually see some of the mills discussed there -- or is it simply a book store. What do you know about GATE? It would be good to hear from any others who are familiar with their operation as well. Thanks. On another topic, you must be having a very exciting time there. I just saw a photo of the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya -- all I can say is a big "Jaya!" Looks like there's enough room there to shelter all of us! ys hkdd
