Guest guest
I have just received 3 books via Interlibrary Loan. Wonder if anyone else happens to have read them and has an opinion on them: Wulf Boie Introduction of animal-powered cereal mills 1989 GATE (German Appropriate Technology Exchange) 70 pages Lots of different types -- illustrations are somewhat fuzzy and disappointing, however. Peter Lowe (that's Lowe with an umlaut over the "o", also spelled Leowe) Animal powered systems: an alternative approach to agriculture 1986 GATE (German Appropriate Technology Exchange) 60 pages Illustrations a little better. Text is both inspiring and very scientific and analytical. J. Kenneth Major Animal-Powered Engines 1978 BT Batsfore Ltd London 168 pages Many excellent technical drawings. If anyone can obtain this book, I would recommend it. Perhaps Syamasundara Prabhu already has a copy. Not only does it show the drawings -- but also it tells where in England to find the different devices being described. This seems like a gold mine for us. There is also some technical analysis of power ratios. Illustrations are given in both meters and feet. your servant, Hare Krsna dasi
