Guest guest
The title was publicity friendly but not literal. We actually planned to plant 6000 hedging plants and trees. These are planted 5 plants per yard in double rows 1 ft apart. This is a traditional english system of fencing. A double row of barbed wire and a hedge planted in the middle. The idea being to be able to dispense with the barbed wire at some point. The hedge plants are cut 3/4 through and layed over. It makes a very strong stock fence. We planted 4500 on the day and are planning to plant the rest in a weeks time. The plants within the hedge will grow 30ft tall if left however it is not our intention to let the hedge get that tall. Every 20yards along the hedge lines we planted an oak or an ash which we intend to let grow into full trees. ys syam
