Guest guest
SatNam, I have two doubts one regading 4/4 Breath Technique and another regrding Epilepsy 1.) I have started practising 4/4 Breath Technique. Its given that the Inhale and Exhale should be broken into 4 Parts each and during each we should try to pull the navel point inside. This is found to be easy in the Exhale ,but during the Inhale the Lungs and stomach naturally come out and i find it difficult to pull the navel inside. Can any one Kindly clarify how to Proceed? 2.) I am an Epileptic.I usualy had regular attack of fits for 8 years. But since i started practising KY - 3 months back the fits attack have stopped but I am Taking nearly 1600mg of Sedatives like Carbamazepine a day, which is said to retard the activity of the Brain. How will these Epilleptic Drugs affect my KY Practise.( I regularly do Nabhi Kriya). Will these drugs Retard the Good effects of KY also?and will the Raising of the KY enargy be slow? can any one Please explain me abt this. Guest guest
Sat Nam, when did you start taking medication for epilepsy? Was it a very long time before you started practicing yoga? Was the medication working to prevent or limit the number of attacks you were having? Perhaps you can discuss this with your doctor? If practicing yoga has improved your condition by helping you to be more relaxed naturally perhaps, with your doctor's supervision, you can experiment with reducing your medication. blessings ovasoul
Guest guest
I started taking a 200mg dose , 10 years back now its gradually increased to 1600 mg, due to repeated attacks. My question is not to reduce the drug, but how will it affect my KY practise and will this drugs retard the Raising of the KY Energy? ovasoul <ovasoul (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: Sat Nam, when did you start taking medication for epilepsy? Guest guest
Dear Prasana: I hear your concern about drugs interfering with Kundalini rising. There are no studies I know that can really prove or disprove what I am about to say. Imagine what it would take to follow up on 100 students with your situation in a clinical trial testing some without the drug and some with the drug while they do Kundalini yoga. The purpose being to distinguish whether Kundalini rising occurs faster in one group than in the other. Everyone's Kundalini rises according to our individual actions, deeds, thoughts, what we started with in life, the karma we need to shed, and what we are supposed to learn and what we are supposed to contribute to this world, etc etc. There are so many variables! So the drugs may interfere. But I would be ready to say that we do many other things in life to slow down our Kundalini rising which have a much deeper impact on slowing the Kundalini than the drugs you are using. Look at your thoughts: are they uplifted and uplifting at all times? Are you always living in the present moment: when you sleep, do you only and simply sleep? When you eat, do you only eat, tasting every bite you chew and feeling the energy of each swallow? When you listen do you simply just listen or do you prepare your next answer? When you talk do you feel the energy of your words and its impact on the person/people you communicate with? Etc etc Do you see? So I am pretty sure the impact of the medication is minimal if there is any! There are techniques out there to take care of epilepsy without drugs. I would have to look deep into my early e-mails to find the technique I am thinking of. You be the judge: I feel that your able to keep your heart open and feel blissful and that the drugs aren't interfering with that, then your fine!
