Guest guest
Hare Krishna. PAMHO AGTSP. Thank you very much to all of you for the many very interesting and thought provoking insights that we are receiving on this conference. As someone who is pushing for a present day realistic worldwide viable cow protection, often with a more materialistic bent, I find my appreciation of the depth of love and understanding from Prabhupada and his devotees increasing. In many ways I have been unfair with this conference in taking the side of an out-right karmi (though in some ways I'm not far off) and not as a devotee, which once bitten is always smitten. I did this to entirely make the point that all living entities, both devotional or not, need to be taken under the wings of the Absolute and not locked in the blinkers of a sectarian religion, which ISKCON too often seems to be. Wether or not it is unfair I don't know, but now that Syamasundra has taken up my main points I would like to relax from such an antagonistic position to the extent that I can. Syamasundra has put forward the points of how much work, money, skills are needed for a family man to make a living in today's world in the UK, the USA - the developed world - and how to obtain that through the sole occupation of cow protection. What is "a living"? We all live in houses on land, some have have cars, tellies, gas, water, everything. So, this then takes me back to where I started, of a nuts and bolts approach to the business of protecting cows - the inputs, processes, outputs and the acceptable profits to be made. Another more personal point is to be made - I feel on this conference as a sore thumb waiting for amputation, and often some people are quite happy to throw the knife; and I am very often stabbing knives into the heart of your beliefs. The thing is I, as you all, am a person with all my complexities, and I feel you know me not as this person, only the loud mouthed basher of ideas; and I know you not as you are. Obviously on an internet forum it is difficult to express personality totally, but I would like a more personal style to enter between us - if you still want me here that is - as we attempt to bring cow protection to the whole world. Other than that, I hope all our fine and gross words do not just stay as that, and that we really do take up further the mantle of an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable agricultural system with the "profitable" lifetime protection of all farm animals.
