Guest guest
from Amala Bhakti dd, The Netherlands Dear Hare Krsna Mataji, my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada ! I would like to thank you a million times for speaking up so bravely. To me this conference seemed almost like a sac with air only. But perhaps it can be filled with proper words AND deeds. I have seen in the past 10 years such painfully sad situations and conditions of cows under so called Iskcon's care . Cows rotting away(in Mayapur Dham, yes), left without water, improper food, cows suffering and dying out of plain neglect, and what more I have not seen but heard from other eye witnesses. Those supposedly responsible disregarded expert advise from experienced cowherds. Or simply denied the problem. One clear instance on a very hot day in the Hungarian summer...A huge cowstable, more expencive than the temple building, had just been officially opened. Great, but the bulls were left on top of the hill, on a sandy field with no shade and no water. No facilties even for running water reservoirs. The honorable swami totally denied the fact when we informed him about it. "No, he said,"they have water."But they were left without water all day, apart from the few buckets that we could arrange for them. What will be the future ? In India, on the Vraja Mandala Parikrama, I have wittnessed Cow Torture in the name of GO Puja. Twice she made a total split with her hind legs. Can you imagine the pain she sufferd. The swami watched, but didn't take action. Neither the next year. I warned them of the problem of bringing a cow on a slippery marble floor. The owner of the cow was offered some money to cover the cost of the vet. I had already spoken up several times, now I could only cry. You want to hear more ? You want to hear solutions ? Does anyone want to hear ? Does anyone care enough ? One devotee cut the fence, for some reason, of the field where six old cows were grazing. Oh, he didn't fix it afterwards. Then one ox was missing. They kind of searched for him. Four days later when my husband came he saw the broken fence thinking "now I will find a dead cow" Though he didn't know the ox was missing. Within less than 10 minutes he found the ox. Dead. Eyes and nose eaten from by crows. He had fallen into a muddy ditch.Having no strength to get out of the situation he died of exhaustion. And do you know crows don't wait for the ox to die before consuming an eyebalb ? And do you know devotees were singing Hare Krishna and Jaya Jaya Jaya, Hari hari bol in the temple room ? It was festival time ! What will be the future ? All around Europe I have seen so called farms with cows being taken care of whimsically. I am not an expert, but some things are dead plain. And other things are just common sense. And again other things can be learned from those who do know about the proper way. And let's quit making excuses. Wishing you all the best, your servant, Amala Bhakti dd
