Guest guest
Are we still planning to do this? I think a good idea would be that it should include a description of each cow. For example NAME; SEX; (BREED); BIRTH YEAR [or approx age]; TRAINED/UNTRAINED; Bred within previous 12 months? yes-no; Calved within previous 12 months? yes-no; NAMES OF CALVES; {following is optional}DAM/SIRE (mother/father). Sample: 1. Yamuna, cow (Jersey) b. 1994, untrained, bred 1999, calved Sept 1999, CALVES: Syama, Darsan, DAM: Yasoda 2. Bhima, ox (Brown Swiss) approx 9 yrs, trained, DAM: Lola, SIRE: Daksa 3. Darsan, bull calf (Jersey-Guernsey) b 1999, in training, DAM: Yamuna, SIRE: Sam-son-of-Becky-Firebright Farm I think recent history is proving that we need at least an annual reporting of the cows by name. your servant, Hare Krsna dasy "COM: ISCOWP (Balabhadra Dasa & Chaya Dasi - USA)" wrote: > [Text 2380298 from COM] > > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="x-user-defined" > > Dear Prabhus, > > PAMHO. Guest guest
Hare Krsna. PAMHO AGTSP Re records for the cows. I have been keeping detailed records for our herd here at New Varshan in Auckland New Zealand for the last 10 years and have a form with the name of the cow at the top and a photo. Then I use one of two standard printed forms I made up. One for bulls/bullocks and one for heifers/cows. At the bottom there is a space for the date of death and details. Also on the form is facility for records for sickness, worming, tb testing etc. Once a cow has left her body, it is dated and HER FORM IS NOT THROWN OUT but kept. Years ago, when we were initially starting our herd, we found it very hard to obtain info on average ages of different breeds. Now through keeping accurate records, we have built up a detailed picture that will always be of use worldwide in our society. I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you al great success with your upcoming Gopuja celebrations. All glories to our gomatas worldwide. Your servant, Ananta Krsna Dasi.
