Dear Elaine Linden,

My name is Mark Chatburn and I work for VEDA. I was

the one who posted the information in The Vegetarian

magazine. You contacted the discussion group of ISKCON

who are the market leaders in cow protection. They are

a bit slow to interact with others, but I am hoping

others may get interested to aid in the development of

the proposed farming system. More information is

enclosed. Please feel free to correspond.

Hari bol!

I'd like more info about Veda.

The ideals are just what I am trying to do here in Mayapur on a small scale.

Even here in India people are more and more relying on machines and so on.

At the moment I am trying to find the best design for a one-ox-drawn-cart.

My ox is still young. We like to use him only for small jobs and short

distances.

Can any one help?

I hope you are well by the grace of Krishna.

Your servant,

Hrimati dasi

It's nice to hear that you are training your own ox. Valuable training

information from a former ISKCON Minister of Agriculture is available online

for

free. On the ISCOWP website, Paramananda's Ox Power -- Ki Jaya gives

information on how to train the ox and how to build very comfortable yokes that

will not hurt the ox's neck. There is additional valuable information on the

website from Balabhadra Prabhu, ISKCON's current Minister of Cow Protection and

Agriculture.

Here's the link to the website http://www.iscowp.com/resources/oxpower.html

I hope this will help you.

your servant,

Hare Krsna dasi
