Guest guest
What we've been trying to do is set up our own account for direct donations, >so that it can't go on bills. The paper work is done, but the hard work of >getting donations is getting going This is a good idea. We already have plenty of donations coming in for "Adopt-a-cow", but it goes into bills. I will show your letter at our next community meeting. Why should the cows be less important than >somebody having their washing machine bill or electric bill paid? Well considering Srila Prabhupada discouraged dependence on such things, after all you can wash clothes in a tub as I do, or burn an oil lamp, it wouldn't be too hard to guess Srila Prabhupada's priority for money on the farm, especially money donated in good faith it is going into cow-care. He also said we should be scrupulously honest in our dealings with the public.I think many donors would be angry that their donations are syphoned off elsewhere, ys, niscala >"COM: Ananda Maya (dd) SDG (Derrylin - Northern Ireland)" ><Ananda.Maya.SDG (AT) bbt (DOT) se> >Ananda.Maya.SDG (AT) bbt (DOT) se, Cow (AT) bbt (DOT) se >"Noelene Hawkins" <niscala99 (AT) hotmail (DOT) com>, "COM: Cow (Protection and >related issues)" <Cow (AT) bbt (DOT) se> >abuse >Tue, 2 Nov 99 12:07 +0000 > >[Text 2748599 from COM] > >Haribol prabhus, >PAMHO AGTSP > >"Our farm here is supported by collections in the name of feeding the >hungry, guest facilities, and donations in the name of feeding our poor >orphans the cows, where it actually goes to paying our bills.." > >I think this has happened in most temples.
