IMPORTANT: avoiding virus hoaxes

A message to all of you. Please, before you warn anyone about a

computer virus

bomb scare

terrorist food poisoning

etc.

Please take 3 minutes to check a source like the Urban Legends reference page

(there are several other good ones also) to make sure that it has not already

been detected as a hoax. False alarms about computer viruses and the like are

major wasters of electric energy because they grow so quickly exponentially.

If you receive a warning -- check first. If you find it is a hoax, please

notify the sender and encourage them to check first next time, before notifying

you.

your servant,

Hare Krsna dasi
