Ox Power - New York Times -front page Oct 2, 2002

Just wanted to let everyone know that this is the first time I have seen an ox

power photo on the front page of the New York Times.

 

Today's issue (Wed, Oct 2) shows a beautiful photo of some big white apparently

zebu oxen pulling a cart with some storm-tossed green palm trees in the

background

as they catch the first gusts of wind from Hurricane Lili.

 

It's a reminder of the irony that when Castro dies, several hundred thousand

trained Cuban oxen will probably die with him, as US opens commercial relations

and the John Deere tractor company moves in.
