Urgent Help Needed, Veracruz Cows Near Death

Dear Maharajas, Devotees and Matajis:

Please accept our humble obeisances.

All Glory to Srila Prabhupada.

Is very painful for us to give you today news about this situation,

but the Mexico's GBC (HH Guru Prasad Svami) didn't give any help to this

embarrassing issue, despite since five years ago Uddharana Prabhu (ACBSP)

personally ask for his help.

 

In the early 1980 (aprox.) was coming some cows and oxes from

Gita-nagari farm directly to the new ISKCON farm near Tulancingo City, (at 3h.

of Mexico City). Unfortunately in the year 1988 the farm was closed and the

property selled, all the cows and oxes become homeless and nobody want to have

responsibility with them.

 

Uddharana Prabhu mercifuly took seven at his charge since the same

1988 year, he maintain the cows and oxes with his income from vegetarian

restaurant opened by him in Orizaba City (at 1:30 h. from Veracruz City/Port),

The place where the cows and oxes is ubicated has only 3.7 acres (1.5

hectareas), too small for, but this is the best place that Uddharana Prabhu can

get.

 

Since five years ago Uddharana Prabhu slowly begin to have

economical difficulties to maintain the cows and oxes, since that time he asked

each year personally for help to HH Guru Prasad Svami without receiving any

response about. One year ago the situation becomes very difficult, the

restaurant income wasn't enough to maintain the cows and oxes and Uddharana

Prabhu begun to be indebted, in March 2002 Uddharana Prabhu talk again with HH

Guru Prasad Svami, at this time asking for urgent help, but GPS didn't give a

penny, from that time and until today GPS don't organize any colect to help to

maintain the cows and oxes.

 

Due to Uddharana Prabhu's debits contracted for maintain the cows

and oxes he was obliged to close his restaurant, because he prefer to give to

eat (each time lower amount) to the cows and oxes over pay their bills.

 

Today the cows and oxes are near to death by starvation, they are 8

cows, 8 oxes and 2 calfs, all at high risk to death, also Uddharana Prabhu are

continuously beset by non devotees wanting to buy them (obviously to be eated).

 

 

The daily need for the cows and oxes survive is $50.00 US ($1500.00

US montly). The restaurant has been closed and Uddharana Prabhu is 52 y/o, he

is sick and today his weight is 33 pounds (15 kg) lower his normal weight.

 

We're looking for devotees that want to take them to another farms

or want to help to maintain these cows and oxes, they have in Krishna

Consciousness more than 10 years. Actually the cows and oxes lived at 1:30 hrs

from the Veracruz City/Port, for this reason can be easy their shipping to the

Atlantic Ocean, but due to their condition maybe they can't resist a travel.

 

Now in our New Vrindaban, we see how the cows are happy, how they

are dealing. They are not afraid. This is our duty, to keep the cows happy.

Just like I want to see my wife and children happy, similarly, it is the duty

of the human society to see that the cows feeling very happy. This is human

civilization. Otherwise it is tiger civilization, meat-eaters. Meat is not

eaten by human being. It is eaten by the dogs, by the tigers, by the animals.
