Dear sadhvi ~ this really, really brought it all home to me ... the part about plastic bags and tiny arati lamps floating across one's face. What a beautiful way to show the pairs of opposites. I am going to remember this, and if I feel "smacked" (put down, criticized, etc.), I'll think of it as a plastic bag floating acros my face, and if someone is nice to me or gives me a compliment, I'll think of it as a tiny arati lamp doing the same. And I'll do my utmost best in both situations to see them as not really different and as opportunities for acceptance and equanimity. I really really respond to metaphors. This is a great one.
