Guest guest
Beloved Family, One time Swamiji was explaining "Vishwas" in the temple. Since we were little, we pray to God asking for Vishwas - it means faith in Hindi. Swamiji said that Vishwas is made of "vish" -- the entire universe and "waaas" -- my breadth. So Vishwas means our whole being is invested in the Universe -- The universe is my being. I learnt then - when we pray to God for giving vishwas, we are asking to become one with the entire universe. So beautiful! So sublime! Next day, Maa asked me how Swamiji's teaching yesterday. I could not describe in words - i stood there speechless. Maa smiled and said "Ganga Snaan." p.s. snaan means to take a bath. Ganga Snaan is bathing in Ganga! Jai Ganga Maiyya!
Guest guest
Ramya, your postings are so very wonderful. They offer so much beauty and inspiration as well a lot of knowledge and information. From one with little knowledge and even less experience, your postings are "Ganga Snaan." Thank you. n_ramya108 <n_ramya108 > wrote: Beloved Family, One time Swamiji was explaining "Vishwas" in the temple. Since we were little, we pray to God asking for Vishwas - it means faith in Hindi. Guest guest
Namaste Karen, Linda and all Beloved Family, Thank you Karen and Linda for your kind words, interest and questions! Linda - In the Vishnu Puja book, our beloved Swamiji says that "Vish" means Universe and "NU" means who pervades or embodies. Vishnu is He who pervades the universe or embodies the universe. So in my humble understanding - the more "vishwas" we have the closer we are to "Vishnu" - to God. The song you wrote is a song that we sing to Lord Shiva -- Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambo, Kashi Vishwanath Gange, Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambo, Kaashi Amarnath Gange. These are names of Lord Shiva and places of His pilgrimage. Father's Day is coming - Let us all join together to celebrate our Divine Father, Lord Shiva! Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambo! ramya
