Guest guest
Namaste, Today I was watching Ramayan TV serial on DVD. In cutain raiser, Ramanad Saagar tells following on Maa Sita's Agni Pariksa: "It is not true that there was Agni Pariksa for Sitaaji. Bhagvaan RAm sensed early that there might be trouble for Sitaji, and hence for protecting her, he requested Agni DevtA to take care of her. After giving her to Agni devatA , he created a reflected image of Sitaji. When the war was over, Shri Ramji requested Agni devata to give back Sitaji. This whole thing was kept so secret that even Laxmanji did not know it." I have not heard this peace of information before, can somebody comment on this please? Thanks, santosh

Online it is at: http://sanskrit.gde.to/mirrors/ramayana/valmiki.htm (yuddha kaaNDa ch.103-106) [There are other variant versions in different rescensions.] Regards, Sunder

Guest guest
From what I've heard this scene was a later addition to the Ramayana and wasn't in the original Ramayana.
