Guest guest
Question from Sadhu Maa: Shree Maa says : "A balanced life consists of 8 hours of work, 8 hours of sleep and 8 hours of spiritual practices." Pranam Gurus,In our pursuit of a balanced life, what activities would you consider appropriate to count as part of the 8 hours of spiritual practices? For instance, would seva to the gurus, elders or friends, studying spiritual text or watching videos on the Devi Mandir website, be a part of spiritual practices or only things such as japa, pranayama, puja, meditation? Thank you for this clarification, I am looking for practical guidance to help move me closer to a balanced life. Jai Maa! Swamiji's response: That will evolve as spirituality becomes more and more incorporated into our daily life. In the beginning stages seva to the gurus, elders or friends, studying spiritual text or watching videos on the Devi Mandir website are a part of our spiritual life. They are part of the practices. Later japa, pranayama, puja, meditation become recognized as our spiritual practices, and seva to the gurus, elders or friends, become recognized as the paying of our debts of karma, the cost of earning the privilege to do the sadhana.
