Sorry, can you run that by me again: offenses make for a good opportunity to

discuss things and be corrected??

It's rather grandiose thinking to assume that some dialog -- including that

which is offensive -- on pamho is going to do anything to alter the

leadership in ISKCON. Assuming it *requires* altering, of course.

Have a nice chat, I'll leave you to it...

Dear Jahnu Dvipa prabhu,

Is this something you read in Srila Prabhupada's books, or did you just

make it up? Personally, I've read only about 30 of Srila Prabhupada's

books so far (since 1995, multiple readings counted as one, SB & CC

counted by individual volumes) and listened to about 350 hours of his

lectures and discussions. I'm saying that as a courtesy so you don't

have to keep reading if you think that means my experience and point of

view are worthless.

I wonder how much spiritual instruction it takes to see that the rape,

torture, and/or beatings of hundreds of Vaishnava children in gurukulas

all over ISKCON indicate a gross failure on the part of ISKCON leaders.

Should I wait until I might someday have a Bhaktivedanta degree before I

speak up and say that something is seriously wrong? If that is the

case, it will never happen, because I have little interest to "learn"

from those who have read so much but couldn't seem to understand that

raping and torturing Vaishnava children is so very wrong, not to mention

bad for 'ISKCON's image.'

What if I had your attitude and I was engaged in a humble service in a

gurukula during the 80's? Should I have kept quiet about obvious abuse

and just trusted the leaders?

Also, I wonder if you really think I should quit my job and abandon my

wife and children so that I can enter a Bhakta program. I thought that

attitude died in the last millennium.

How much did you have to read to be able to predict what Krishna will or

will not do? I'm not sure if I should be happy that you know Him so

well, or to hope you're bluffing because I can't envision any solution

without Krishna's intervention.

Hare Krsna.

Sincerely,

Pandu das
