Guest guest
Hello all, I'm new to Kundalini yoga and to this forum. I like Kundalini a lot so far. I have Ravi and Ana's DVDs and they are great. However, I got scared tonight when I read the dangers of kundalini, how people can get sick and how bad it is if kundalini awakens.... as I said before I'm so new to this and what I read scared me. Can somebody explain? Thanks!!! Carla
Guest guest
Sat Nam Carla, I couldn't resist answering this post, as it comes up frequently in the group. The 'profile' is the same, when new members join they are also in the process of surfing other sites about KY, and thats when they run into the overhyped, sensational stories. They abound. My take is many of them are not Kundalini risings at all. I was on a Tribe site yesterday reading a thread and these people were throwing 'Kundalini' around like it was an old friend. Well they didn't learn Kundalini our way, if thats what they are really practicing. So now its to the point that if you shiver, thats Kundalini rising. I had some anxiety when I first began too, and it disappeared in about a week or two, partly due to the experienced teacher i had who told me pretty much what I'm telling you now, and partly because I began to just enjoy the energy, after a class, and soon stopped looking for the 'horrowing' experience and realized its way different than I thought. I will say that we all carry emotions, energy that is blocking us, and when we release this energy during kriyas, we experience the anger, fear, etc.. I had one yesterday, i get them when i start a pranayam meditation, breath retention (fear of death?), i can feel the fear rise. But its first chakra we all have that, i think to different degrees. So just relax and do some kriyas, and don't wait to explode or something. :-) Deva Kundaliniyoga, "carlaklineus" <carlaklineus wrote: > > Hello all, > > I'm new to Kundalini yoga and to this forum. Guest guest
Dear Carla: Did you read some of the info about Kundalini yoga posted online by some religious groups? Or is it something else? All I can tell you is that the only people who have come to me for help due to uncontrollable "kundalini" energy are people not practicing Kundalini Yoga and delving into meditation only or deeply wanting some kind of spiritual awakening their bodies weren't ready for. Kundalini yoga is the kind of yoga that prepares the body one step at a time for Kundalini rising. It is so minute that you may not even feel the energy rising and you are already feeling blissful. Regular Kundalini yoga practice strengthens the nervous system and so energy moves through safely. This is the best place to be for energy block release and for awareness.
