Guest guest
Sat Nam Carla! Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is different than what you may have read. There are other yogas entitled Kundalini Yoga that are more forceful using strong breathing techniques, transmissional teaching, Shakipat and strong bandhas and never suggest you practice without a teacher. Yogiji stressed (es) the importance of following each kriya precisely as given, not using your ego to make up a technique or create a new pattern of practice within the kriya, tuning in and tuning out, and not mixing Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan with any other form of yoga. The Shakti is indeed mighty and powerful and needs to be respected in these ways as you practice this type of yoga. Yet all forms of Yoga are for the same ultimate goal; to raise Kundalini and reach Samadhi. It is your karma whether that happens in this lifetime or not so there are other things going on with raising that awareness. The body/mind, nervous system need to be systematically strengthened, blocks released and dissolved with the practice so that the power moves through the central channel or sushumna. Raising the Kundalini is only the first part! ha ha! Then you integrate and bring it back into the energy centers. You do that with the practice. Practice everyday even if it's just 3 minutes of Sat Kriya or BOF. This Kundalini Yoga that Yogi Bhajan taught is safe when the teachings are kept pure.
