Guest guest
I have had quite a bit of problem with trying to be on a vegetarian diet. I have had both anemia and digestive problems due to lack of amino acids. I really would like to be able to get on a vegetarian diet and stay on it. Can anyone out there suggest a really safe and nourishing vegetarian diet or perhaps a book or book about the best vegetarian diet? I would be very grateful. Guest guest
hi i dont know who gave u this idea. disease is a product of the mind. if u program urself into thinking that veggie food will lead u into this problem, u are in for it. i have been a veggie all my life, so have millions of people worldwide. there are 3 important determinants that u need to look into. according to ayurvedic science, the constitution is basically based on the equation of 3 elements : vata (water), pitta (fire) and vayu(air). if u dont have enough fire in your belly, u will have to perform agni sara breath to get enough of fire element for digestion. water is abundant in our body, but there is retention of it to unnecesary proportions in the cells, , it leads to obesity. so there has to be balance in it. passing wind is due to high protein diet taken by veggies who feel that their diets lack protein. and hence the solution is do kapalabhati and bhastrika breath routines to get over the gaseous and toxic waste from the system. we are all evolved as humans, and its proven that vegan food comes under sattvic category, which means its in the first chain of food cycle. and this is ideal for meditation and yogic pursuits. there are rajassic (stimulation) food and tamassic (inactivity inducing food) in vegetarian diet too. but its so simple to identify such foods. a quick search on the internet will give you the knowledge about teh right kind of veggie food to consume i hope this info helps you cheers pradeep ullal

Guest guest
Sat Nam Pradeep, I mean no disrespect but it's rather clear that disease is a state of the body. Some conditions can be a product of the mind (these are called psychosomatic illnesses) and certainly our thoughts and attitude can influence the health of our immune system but an actual disease is the result of biological agents (viruses). Certainly if one's immune system is very strong we are less likely to succumb to a virus and more likely to create antibodies that protect us but some viruses are so virulent that our body cannot cope with them or create adequate defenses. Many people find the idea that we are in total control all the time to be very alluring (or the idea that there is a rewarding and punishing god who controls our lives - and that those who are ill are being punished by god for not being "good enough" - very alluring)...this is the ego (and judgement of ego) speaking very loudly and also with a great deal of fear. Certainly we can influence our environment and our own health, and this is well worth doing, but to think that we individual control all of nature and all that is...rather than being participants in the dance of being....is an act of hubris. Only ego thinks the world revolves around itself and it controls all that is! An intolerance to a vegetarian diet is not a disease (though nutritional deficiencies and overconsumptions can cause diseases). Gas is generally caused by either foods that a person has difficulty digesting or by mixng protein and sugar which then ferment in the intestines causing gas. A person would need to look closely at their diet and the effects of individual foods to see what is causing gas in their particular case. Perhaps they have a gluten or dairy intolerance? Perhaps they need to introduce certainly very farty vegetables like cabbage into their diet more slowly? It is a very deep shame when someone dies because they don't seek out appropriate medical treatment that could save their life because they believe that they should be able to treat a disease or condition through their thoughts without actually dealing with their body as well. Or when someone perceives an illness to be a punishment from god when it's a basic physical condition that could be easily dealt with via physical means. blessings and be well ovasoul
Guest guest
Sat Nam Ovasoul I read your response to the vegetarian diet variables and I praise you to the heavens for stating that one should seek out expert help rather than think they can cure all. You gave very down to earth advice nutritionally, e.g., adding gas producing foods slowly. Thinking one can cure everything with the mind is close to superstition and very foolish. Great advice. Guest guest
Dear friends when it is physical sickness we treat it physically.,not spiritually. I have instances where a friend of mine was in pain until nearly eruptions in the stomach??!!! when everyone of the meditiations friends tell her ..look mediatate and it will be solved. There is no such things...if you have physical failure of body...no spirituality can help.....please have to separated this 2.Spiritual is spiritual,Body is physical....although spiritual /yoga will help to some but not all.I hope what I mentioned herein is explained in simple english grammer. If you are sick if it needs medical u need medical ok....best of luck for all.
