Guest guest
I look with some envy on my friend's dogs' glorious coats and wonder how she does it! She never washes them, just the occasional brush - lots of TLC. But my dogs now in mid-winter still have fleas, after a long dry summer. You know those "Advantage" internal chemical flea control tablets? She uses something like these. I cannot give my dogs those chemicals - as I am convinced that it will harm them - but diet alone is not controlling the problem - not even a chemical free wash with a neem rinse is helping - so if anyone has an Ayurvedic suggestion I would be so grateful. Thank you! Jane
Guest guest
Jane, My wife just said to me before I read your post that our dog's coats look so much better. These past few months I have been mixing about an equal amount of garlic powder and italian herbs in their food I give them about one heaping teaspoon each and they weigh about 60 lbs. each. It would seem to me that fleas would not like garlic smell. I live in Alaska and we don't have fleas here. Guest guest
Dear GB I put 2 heaped tablespoons of dried garlic in their food most days (over 9 dogs) - so obviously fleas quite like it after all but I am out of brewers yeast which is also meant to help. Fancy not having fleas in Alaska! We are certainly making up for it down here! Thanks anyway Jane These past few months I have been mixing about an equal amount of garlic powder and italian herbs in their food I give them about one heaping teaspoon each and they weigh about 60 lbs. each.
