yada padyah pasyate rukma-varnam

kartaram isam purusam brahma-yonim

tada vidyan punya-pape vidhuya

nirañjanah paramam samyam upaiti

"One who sees that golden-colored Personality of Godhead, the

Supreme Lord, the supreme actor, who is the source of the Supreme Brahman,

becomes free from the reactions to past pious and sinful deeds, and

becomes liberated, attaining the same transcendental platform as the Lord."

I can see where that translation is going. ;)

However, this is a more accurate translation:

"When the seer beholds the self-luminous Creator, the Lord, the Purusha, the progenitor of Brahma, then he, the wise seer, shakes off good and evil, becomes stainless, and reaches the supreme unity."

This is in reply to the incorrect second translation.

rukma-varnam: Complexion (varnam), rukma (Golden). Where do you get self luminous from?

pasyate: Sees. Clearly indicates a separate entity seeing the golden form.

brahma yonim: Source of Brahman. (not BrahmA, if that is what you meant)

samyam upaiti: samyam (Similar) ... NOT same.
