Question from a devotee:

In the Chandi Path, there is mention of the curses of Brahma, Vashishtha

and Vishvamitra and the use of mantras to remove those curses. Please

expalin why these curses exist. Since the divine nature is one of daya

aur karuna (kindness and compassion), how and why did we ever end up

being so cursed?

 

Swamiji's response:

The definition of abuse is an issue of intention. Chandi Pathah is a

tool for self-purification. If you use it, recite it, to obtain selfish

interests, then you will not have a tool for self-purification. That is

comparable to a life time without God. Major curse.
