Rs.25 lakh necklace offered to Lord Venkateswara

 

 

 

TIRUPATI, JUNE 9, 2006 (TIRUPATITIMES.COM)

 

 

 

A golden necklace called as Sri Lakshmi Haram weighing about 2.3 kg

worth about Rs.25 lakh was offered to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala by a

devotee from Andhrapradesh today.

 

 

 

Temple sources told TIRUPATITIMES.COM that the devotee who wished to

remain anonymous has gifted the offering to adorn the utsav

(processional) idol of Lord.

 

 

 

A princely offering of three body shields (kavachams) made of gold for

the processional idols of Lord and his divine consorts, total weighing

about 10 KG, worth about Rs. one crore was made at the hill temple by a

devotee from Chennai on Thursday.
