More or Bandhana Yoga

Hi all,

 

After seeing that Bandhana Yoga is only partially

applicable to Netaji’s chart, I wanted to look at

other charts which might have Bandhana Yoga. The first

name came to mind was that of Nelson Mandela.

Following are the birth details for Nelson Mandela:

 

DOB: July 18, 1918

TOB: 14:54 (GMT+2)

Location: 28E47, 31S35

(I don’t have the name of the place)

 

When I first looked at the Rasi chart, I was

disappointed to see that neither Lagna Lord nor the

Lord of 6th was with Sani, Rahu or Ketu. To my

surprise, the entire picture changed when I switched

to Bhava chart. In this chart, both the Lagna lord

Guru and and the 6th Lord Sukra occupy a Kendra (7th)

with Ketu. This satisfies the definition of Bandhana

yoga to the core!

 

Now, if we look at the planets involved in causing

Bandhana Yoga, it is Guru, Sukra, Ketu and Budha who

owns the Kendra. Then, I cross referenced his dates of

arrests and releases with dasha bhukti periods of

participating planets. He was first arrested during

Budha dasha and remained in prison from Dec. 1956 to

1961. For most of Ketu dasha and Sukra dasha he was

imprisoned. And, he was finally released in Ravi dasha

on Feb 11, 1990. Ravi is the lord of 9th from Lagna

and the Lord of 10th from Chandra. I have never come

across another Yoga that indicates the life events so

precisely!

 

Another name that came to my mind was that of Suu Kyi

of Mynamar (Burma). I was not able to get her birth

time. She was born on June 19, 1945 in Yongon

(Rangoon). Since the time of birth is not known, the

location of Lagna is uncertain. However, I looked for

any planets that were associated with Sani, Rahu or

Ketu assuming a birth time of 12:00 noon. I found that

there were no associations to Ketu. However, Ravi and

Budha were associated with Rahu and Sani in Mithuna! I

looked for the possibility of one of them being the

lord of Lagna and other being the lord of the 6th (and

at the same time keeping Mithuna as either Kendra or

Trikona) to find a suitable position for Lagna. This

circus was done of course assuming that Bandhana Yoga

exists in her chart as she is under arrest for a long

time. I observed the following scenarios by trying to

keep Mithuna as either Kendra or Trikona:

 

1. Meena Lagna

 

- Lagna lord is Guru

- 6th lord is Ravi

 

Inference: Bandhana Yoga is partially fulfilled due to

Ravi being the Sixth lord and being with Rahu and Sani

in a Kendra.

 

2. Mithuna Lagna

 

- Lagna Lord is Budha

- 6th Lord is Kuja

 

Inference: Bandhana Yoga is partially fulfilled due to

Ravi being the Sixth lord and being with Rahu and Sani

in a Kendra.

 

3. Kanya Lagna

 

- Lord of Lagna is Budha

- 6th Lord is Sani

 

Inference: Both Sani and Budha are with Rahu. Hence,

Bandhana Yoga definition is fulfilled completely. BTW,

this is the Lagna I get when I use 12:00 noon as the

birth time.

 

4. Thula Lagna

 

- Lord of Lagna is Sukra

- 6th lord is Guru

 

Inference: Bandhana Yoga is not seen here.

 

5. Dhanur Lagna

 

- Lagna Lord is Guru

- 6th Lord is Sukra

 

Inference: Bandhana Yoga is not seen here.

 

6. Kumbha Lagna

 

- Lagna Lord is Sani

- Sixth Lord is Chandra

 

Inference: While explaining Bandhana Yoga, BV Raman

mentions that – “If the Lord of Lagna happens to be

Saturn, by implication the evil is lessened or

completely neutralized”. Hence, Bandhana Yoga gets

ineffective for this Lagna.

 

Looking at the above possibilities, it appears that

only Kanya Lagna qualifies for the Bandhana Yoga to be

present in the chart. This also indicates that the

time of birth might be close to noon time.

 

The planets participating in Bandhana Yoga are: Sani,

Budha and Rahu

 

When I checked the dates of her arrest it is as

follows:

 

1. First house arrest: July 1989 to July 1995

2. Second house arrest from September 2000 to May

2002

3. Third house arrest from 2003 is on-going

 

All the above arrest periods fall under Sani

mahadasha. And, she is currently running Budha

mahadasha. Budha being the other participant in

Bandhana Yoga by virtue of being Lagna Lord as well as

by virtue of owning the Kendra. Hence, it appears that

her life under arrest will continue for much longer

time. Poor Suu Kyi!
