I've always used Plant Vitamin B1, and/or Rootone, or something like it. Rootone and its kind is supposed to have hormones that stimulate root growth. More recently, I've found articles showing that fertilizer with a plenty of phosphates probably is more effective, which makes sense because strong root systems is a benefit of phosphates in the soil. I think the other advice makes sense to me. I know that I probably often mix my potting soil a little too porously, because Tulasi starts to wilt if she hasn't had rain or watering for two days. I'm going to add more topsoil next time I transplant or repot (which will be soon). I like rotted cow manure, period. Always have. Lots of manure in the mix, and frequent feedings with manure tea. I also like seaweed extract, although I haven't used it for a while. It is on my shopping list, though, when I get a little money. I also love common sense with regard to Tulasi's care. That's something Govinda dasi and I would always try to share when we got letters in the early '70s. Yours in service, Babhru
