Guest guest
Understanding Nirvanashtakam To me atmosphere or bhav of this poem is of utterings in the throes of nirvana - so is its construction ONE The first thing his bewildered mind(awareness) notices in the throes of nirvana is that - its point of reference 'I' is gone and with that its identification with the mind and intellect, then it tries to fall back on its organs of perception only to find out there is no identification to that either and with no identification with the organs of perception, the identification to the elements they perceive is also absent what and you hear next is the laughter of complete freedom - (SHIVOHAM) TWO Now it is dawning on him that he has no identification with his body and its physiological functions either - he laughs again. THREE No body - no working to take care of it - more laughter FOUR No action then there in no sin, no sin no need for salvation- more laughter FIVE Now it sinks in that he is not dead - but the funny thing is he was also never born either and therefore all of his relationships - never happened - funny - he laughs and laughs again SIX Then finally it hits him that He is everything - there is only HIM - laughter is HIM Jai Sri Ramakrishana!
