MAYUR: The Ayurvedic University of Europe

Dear Colleague,

In the light of the recent demand of some eminent

doctors for the NHS to stop providing Complementary

Medicine, it is imperative that Ayurvedic

physicians/practitioners and Yoga therapists are

enabled to present the evidence base for their

treatments to their patients, to other health

professionals and the public at large.

MAYUR: The Ayurvedic University of Europe runs

validated programmes in Ayurveda and Yoga (the first

B.Sc(Hons) degrees in these subject areas outside

India). There is a strong emphasis within these

programmes on developing research awareness in our

students and giving them the tools to evaluate the

growing evidence base for both Ayurveda and Yoga

therapy and to be able to disseminate this information

more widely.

A four-day “Research Awareness” Workshop is being

organised by MAYUR from 10th-13th July 2006 for

Ayurvedic physicians/practitioners and Yoga therapists

who practise/intend to practise in the UK.

I hope you find the attached programme of interest and

that you will participate in this event. I look

forward to welcoming you to MAYUR.
