Guest guest
Understanding Kaupina Panchakam When I read the Kaupina Panchakam I understood it as a poem praising the Sadhak not a Master. 1. The first verse praises the sadhak for taking up the challenge of understanding himself and being clear about his goals. 2. The second verse praises the sadhak for giving up a material life for a life satisfied with simple necessities. 3. The third verse praises the sadhak for being so completely devoted to his Istha day and night that sensual pleasures have become irrelevant to him. 4. The fourth verse praises the sadhak for ignoring all the changes happening to him due to his sadhana (like the lure of siddhis or fear of the unknown) and keeping his focus on his Istha. 5. The fifth verse praises the sadhak for always remembering his Istha, his Guru mantra and becoming free by surrendering to their grace to take care of him. Jai Sri Ramakrishna!
